The first workshop in this year's series will feataure, Karina Walters, PhD, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, who founded and directs the university-wide, interdisciplinary Indigenous Wellness Research Institute at the University of Washington and is an affiliate faculty of the West Coast Poverty Center. Her research focuses on historical, social, and cultural determinants of physical and mental health among Native American individuals, families and communities as well as cultures of poverty and two-spiritedness.
Application has been made for 3 CEUs through the Boards of Social Work, Psychology, and Marriage & Family Therapy.
