Stress testing is a diagnostic exam used to evaluate the supply of blood to the heart muscle.  The heart receives blood from the coronary arteries.  If these arteries become blocked or narrowed, your heart will not receive the blood that it needs for proper function.  This test may be useful in detecting the presence and significance of coronary artery disease.

CT Angiography (CTA) Coronary Arteries (Download PDF Brochure)

A Computed Tomography (CT) scanner generates highly sensitive x-ray images of specified body parts.  CT Angiography (CTA) of the coronary arteries is a virtually non-invasive alternative to conventional angiography.  Clinical studies have shown that coronary CTA is reliable for assessing stenoses, patency of bypass grafts, and assessing calcified and non-calcified plaque. The CT scanner acquires images at an extremely fast rate in order to obtain motionless pictures of the arteries in the heart.  An injection of contrast is given at the same time the images are acquired to better visualize the arteries.  After the data is processed, the images can be viewed in a 3-D reconstruction of the heart.

Dobutamine MRI Stress Testing (Download PDF Brochure)

A stress test allows your health care practitioner to evaluate the function of your heart muscle while you are resting and while you are exercising (or stressed).  If you are unable to perform the exercise, your practitioner may use medication to stress your heart.  This medication is called Dobutamine.  The medication simulates what happens to your heart during exercise without you actually having to exercise.

Echocardiogram (Download PDF Brochure)

An echocardiogram allows your health care practitioner to evaluate the function of your heart muscle, vessels, and valves.

Stress Echocardiogram (Download PDF Brochure)

A stress echocardiogram allows your health care practitioner to evaluate the function of your heart muscle while you are resting and while you are exercising (or stressed).  The exercise performed for stressing is walking on a treadmill.  If you are unable to perform the exercise, your practitioner may use medications to stress your heart.  These medications are called Dobutamine and Atropine.  The medications simulate what happens to your heart during exercise without you actually having to exercise.
