The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi provides a number of diagnostic services. Included among them are:
The department is staffed by highly trained medical professionals 24 hours per day. There is a radiologist present Monday through Friday and on call nights, weekends and holidays.

MRI Scanner
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center at University Medical Center-Mesabi houses a uniquely designed, "patient-friendly" scanner. Bone Densitometer
Bone density scanning is now available at University Medical Center-Mesabi. A safe, simple and painless test can determine the health of your bones and help your doctor assess your risk of osteoporosis. Bone density testing is one step you can take to assure your independence and quality of life. Osteoporosis is preventable and treatable. ARRANGEMENTS OR SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS
Your physician or in the event of an emergency the treating emergency physician will determine the necessary diagnositic tests you may need as part of your medical treatment. Arrangements for various tests will be scheduled through your physician and his/her assistant.
